Beyond Adversity BTC Podcast is a Bitcoin education and youth empowerment initiative based in Kenya, focused on making Bitcoin knowledge accessible to underserved communities, especially children and young people in rural areas. The project was started to bridge the growing knowledge gap around financial literacy, digital freedom, and open-source technology in African communities where access to quality Bitcoin education remains limited. Through physical cohorts, community bootcamps, and digital media, we introduce young people to Bitcoin in a simple, practical, and engaging way. Our goal is not only to teach about money, but also to inspire critical thinking, creativity, self-reliance, and long-term economic empowerment. So far, we have successfully conducted two physical Bitcoin education cohorts reaching over 40 youths from rural communities. In addition, we organized two Bitcoin bootcamps for children, engaging a total of 129 kids through interactive learning sessions, games, storytelling, and beginner-friendly activities designed to simplify Bitcoin concepts. Beyond physical training, we also run the Beyond Adversity BTC Podcast, a platform where we host conversations with educators, builders, and advocates from across Africa and the global Bitcoin ecosystem. The podcast helps amplify Bitcoin education, share inspiring stories, and connect local communities to global conversations around freedom technology and decentralized education. Moving forward, we plan to expand our educational programs to more rural communities, increase youth participation, develop more kid-friendly Bitcoin learning materials, and strengthen collaborations with global educators working to advance open-source Bitcoin education worldwide.
